IFRS Reporting & Accounting Lead

We are looking for a technical accounting professional to join our Finance Transformation team at our corporate headquarters in Madrid. You will be part of the Prime project team, helping to lead one of AMFRESH’s key strategic initiatives: our finance transformation programme, which includes developing a reporting platform, processes, policies and a corporate governance framework.

What you currently do when reviewing your clients’ accounts, you will do here by helping to set the Group’s rules: analysing how each business unit accounts for its transactions, defining common IFRS-based criteria, drafting the Group Accounting Policies Manual and ensuring that it is applied consistently across all geographies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review the accounting policies applied across the Group’s business units and countries, identifying differences in accounting treatment, inconsistencies and IFRS-related risks.
• Draft and maintain the Group Accounting Policies Manual.
• Design procedures and periodic compliance reviews to ensure that policies are correctly applied, proposing corrective action plans where deviations are identified.
• Act as the Group’s technical accounting point of reference, supporting local finance teams in the interpretation and application of accounting standards.
• Coordinate with external auditors and local teams on the accounting information required for Group audits.
• Play an active role in the Finance Transformation team as part of Project Prime, working closely with Reporting, Consolidation, Internal Control, Systems and Local Finance.
• Define how accounting policies are embedded in and monitored through the Group’s new financial platform

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in external audit, ideally at a Big Four or equivalent firm.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and the ability to translate accounting standards into clear, practical procedures.
• Experience auditing or working with multinational or multi-entity groups.
• Fluent English for day-to-day collaboration with teams in the UK and Mexico. Spanish is a plus.
• Technical rigour, autonomy and strong skills in process documentation and procedure writing.

NICE TO HAVE:

• Master’s degree in Audit or Accounting.
• In-house experience in Reporting, Consolidation or Corporate Finance.
• Experience in finance transformation projects, ERP implementations, or consolidation and reporting platforms.
