Quality Assurance Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of agricultural commodities, particularly fruits and vegetables, in alignment with both legal and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect agricultural commodities to assess quality, safety, and conformance with legal and company standards.
• Apply agronomy principles to evaluate fruit and vegetable production methods, shipping practices, and storage procedures.
• Prepare detailed reports for growers on product quality and inventory rotation based on arrival and condition.
• Oversee the selection of fruits for customer shipments and ensure they meet specifications.
• Implement RFRC processes and develop weekly reports for management and growers.
• Coordinate inspections of fruit upon arrival with the quality inspection team.
• Manage the repacking process and material coordination to ensure customer specifications are met.
• Monitor operations, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Agricultural Engineering, Bioresource Engineering, or a related food science field.
• At least one year of relevant experience in quality inspection or a similar role, particularly in South America.
• Strong knowledge of food science, fresh fruit management, operations, and logistics.
• Expertise in temperature and age management of inventory, post-harvest techniques, and pest/disease recognition and control.
• Deep understanding of food safety standards for import/export markets and MRL (Maximum Residue Levels) for pesticides on fruit.
• Familiarity with the logistics and regulations of fresh fruit for human consumption.
